Councillors Appreciation Event

Noble leaders Foundation

hosted its second annual Councillors Appreciation Event On Friday 13 December 2019 at the EBandla Hotel in Ballito

The event theme: Rising for the people, was aimed at inspiring a new calibre of leadership amongst councillors and was supported by District Mayor Cllr SS Gumede and the iLembe District Municipality and a host of local businesses.

Councillors were addressed and motivated to gather more strength and momentum in order to serve the needs of the community with quality and excellence. Mayor SS Gumede stressed “Let us work now and do things now so that we will be remembered for what we did- let us make our mark now. Remain humble so that we can serve our communities properly.” He further motivated councillors to take every opportunity to be empowered so that they remain relevant to the people.

The event this year not only sought to appreciate the work done by councillors within the district but also to be a platform to introduce the Mayor’s Business awards, an award presented to local businesses in recognition of their tremendous input in the growth and development of the district.

The following businesses were chosen this year for their outstanding       contribution        towards building  the        economic landscape through job creation and various social initiatives: Hesto Harnesses, KIC, eLand Property group, P & O Fabrication. Awards were also presented to budding entrepreneur Wilile Gumede of Azowel Projects for her achievement in winning the SMME UKZN Champions project as well as twins Viggy and Virginia Qwabe for their outstanding performance during the SA Idols Competition and for gaining positive visibility for the district. “As Noble Leaders Foundation we felt that it was important to give special recognition to these awardees and to acknowledge the good work that has been done. We commend their positive role in the transformation of our community and trust that their influence will continue to have greater impact for the benefit of our district,” said Emmanuel Ngcobo, founder of Noble Leaders Foundation. “If we cannot make a difference, what we do is futile. It is vital for leaders to embrace a higher standard of leadership in this day if we want to secure a brighter future for the generations to come. Noble Leaders would like to thank the key sponsors of the event being FNB and Siza Water, whose partnership made this event possible.
